Welsh holiday park chain announces upgrade
British holiday resort Parkdean has confirmed a £6.5m investment upgrading its parks in Wales ahead of its 2021 season.
The UK’s largest holiday park venture said the investment at its five locations in Wales formed part of a £70m investment across its UK-wide portfolio. The biggest investment will be at its Trecco Bay holiday park at Porthcawl, which will undergo a £3.6m makeover to become one of its seven ‘parks on the future’.
New for 2021 at Trecco Bay includes attraction Sports Dome, a high ropes course, an outdoor climbing wall, and a virtual reality gaming area. The park is also home to the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.
Parkdean’s other Welsh parks will also benefit from investment, with four new caravans introduced at Brynowen, in Borth, and two new caravans each at Carmarthen Bay and Pendine Sands. More than £1.8m has been invested at Ty Mawr, near Abergele, which became a park of the future last year.
