Triotech to make new dark ride for Vinpearl Land park

Triotech announced today that Vinpearl JSC (Hanoi, Vietnam) selected the company to design and build a media-based interactive dark ride for Vinpearl Land’s newest theme park on the tropical resort island of Phú Quốc, Vietnam.
Titled Dragon’s Spell, this attraction is the first media-based Interactive Dark Ride (IDR) in Vietnam, and is entirely designed by Triotech. The design scope, completed by Triotech’s in-house studio, includes storyline, characters, environments, gameplay, queue line, pre-show, and ride area.

“Being involved from the beginning for such a major project allows us to design and deliver a complete attraction that optimizes immersion and interactivity,” stated Ernest Yale, founder, president & CEO of Triotech. He added, “This allows us to focus on the guest experience on which we want to accept no compromise. In our philosophy, it is what should drive the attraction design”.

Stretching along Long Beach, the most pristine and stunning beach of the island, Vinpearl Phu Quoc is a unique resort complex featuring eight resorts, Vinpearl Amusement Park, Vinpearl Safari, a 18-hole golf course, as well as an international convention center and a large scaled theater. Showcasing the best that Phu Quoc has to offer, Vinpearl Phu Quoc is the new leisure and MICE destination to surely bring memorable experiences.

This particular attraction will feature full scenic theming in addition to seven scenes. In another first for Vietnam, Triotech will leverage its proprietary illusio™ interactive projection mapping technology to bring the scenic theming to life. Two formed illusio™ walls bookend each side of one key scene, creating a unique continuous interactive experience for guests. “Making the theming interactive contributes greatly to the immersion of the guests in the story,” explains Nol Van Genuchten, creative vice president of Triotech.

A full special effects package rounds out the immersive experience, including animatronics, fog, directional audio, wind, and special lighting effects.

Two pre-shows precede the ride experience. The latter will feature eighteen (18) four-person carts, operating in trains of two (2) carts each, travelling over a 106-meter single rail track at an hourly guest capacity of over 800.
