The largest aquarium in the Middle East opens in Abu Dhabi

Polin Aquariums has built the largest aquarium in the Middle East. Located in Al Qana, The National Aquarium is one of the 11 Anchors situated in Al Qana; which is set to be one of Abu Dhabi’s most unique and iconic destinations.

Home to more than 45,000 animals with 60 different exhibits, National Aquarium is the Middle East’s largest aquarium with 10 zones standing over 5500 m2 of floor area. The journey starts with UAE’s national treasures, then to the Red Sea Wreck where visitors will experience the Red Sea’s biodiversity. The Ring of Fire will direct guests to a volcanic cave and then to Ocean Magic. In Frozen Ocean, Puffins will accompany the guests leading them to the flooded forest.

The aquarium journey is part of the classic admission. Other types of admissions include a Dhow tour with a glass bottom, a glass bridge walk or a behind the scenes look at the daily routine of the aquarium’s professionals.

National Aquarium of Abu Dhabi’s The Wildlife Rescue program is a collaboration between the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi & The National Aquarium of Abu Dhabi. The mission is to rescue and rehabilitate native wildlife.
