Portuguese museums and galleries launch virtual tours

Portugal is home to some of the most reputed contemporary art collections and breath-taking museums and grounds, drawing visitors from around the world. The ongoing impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has led a number of museums, galleries and attractions to create fully immersive experiences to allow tourists to take virtual tours, bringing the magic of the historically inspiring visuals to life from the safety of the home.

Aimed at the whole family to enjoy, the project hopes to provide the opportunity to see some of the most prestigious periods in Portugal’s history.

Attractions offering virtual tours include the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, the National Palace of Sintra, the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga and the Museu Nacional dos Coches, all in Lisbon, as well as the National Museum Grão Vasco in the centre of Portugal and the Fundação Serralves in Porto.
