The shortlist for the 2021 Park World Excellence Awards has been announced today. This follows a month-long judging process in which nearly 200 entries and nominations were carefully scrutinised by a panel of independent industry experts.
Launched by Park World publisher, Datateam Business Media in 2018, the Park World Excellence Awards recognises the outstanding work of parks, water parks and family entertainment centres in the EMEA region, together with the manufacturers, suppliers and entertainment specialists that played a crucial role in helping them to bring the year’s top experiences to life.
Richard Pawley is director of operations and ride safety for VTP Global Holdings and one of 11 Park World Excellence Awards judges. He said: “What a marvellous set of applicants through what has been a very traumatic difficult time in our industry’s history. It has been a pleasure and education for me to look through each of them.”
Park World Excellence Awards judge, Phil Taylor, is the managing director of Team Leisure, a specialist-leisure consulting firm based in the UAE. Commenting on the quality and quantity of entries and nominations, he said: “It was a lot of fun, a heck of a lot of entrants and some amazing competition. They’re all winners really and its always a shame to have to pick just a few among so many but that’s the nature of awards, of course, to recognise the very best of the best. It’s a great way to keep in touch with all the new developments and innovations in our industry too.”
