North Wales’ Zip World reaches for the sky with Velocity 2
Zip World, located in Penrhyn Quarry, has announced that the Velocity zip line attraction has doubled its capacity, meaning that four riders can now soar at any one time.
Velocity 2 boasts a steeper decline of 20 degrees and will achieve speeds of 0-60mph in 10 seconds. The new velocity experience features custom-made technology created by the Zip World team to increase speed, accessibility, and comfort for riders and spectators alike.
Guests to the zipline attraction will fly 500 feet above the lake in the Welsh quarry. The new launch-pad features a specially engineered bed that is lowered for take-off, increasing accessibility for people with mobility issues. The zip wires now run with improved trolleys that enable a quieter flight for heightened immersion, and a new patented braking system that allows for a quicker and smoother arrival.
Spectators also have new experiences to look forward to. The new location for the Little Zipper, the first zip line of the Velocity experience, is located directly in the front of the Adventure Terminal. Guests can also watch the ziplining from the Blondin Restaurant, a bistro-style venue.
