New head of projects for Simworx

Simworx has appointed former Merlin Entertainments technical director, Martin Booth, as head of projects.

Booth comes to Simworx after 24 years with Merlin during which time he held a number of different positions, most recently as ride projects technical director within the Merlin Magic Making department.

In his new role at Simworx, Booth will head up a senior management team consisting of design engineering, project management, technical services and after sales support and will work closely with chief technical officer Andy Roberts and other members of the projects team.

Commenting on the appointment, Simworx managing director Terry Monkton, said: “We are delighted to announce this key appointment for Simworx. Martin’s experience within the parks and attractions industry is second to none and will be of huge benefit to us in the future. We are involved in an increasing variety of projects, all of which will now be able to make use of Martin’s expertise and knowledge to help create even stronger working relationships with clients and provide even better overall customer service. I can already see that he will become an invaluable member of the team, both from our own point of view and that of our customers.”

Booth commented: “I had intended to take some time off to project manager a house build before seeking another position, but following some speculative letters sent out earlier this year I heard back from Simworx with a possible opportunity within their organisation. And the rest is history.

“I have known Simworx for many years and am looking forward to what is a very exciting new challenge. The company is constantly developing new products, has been and continues to be involved in a variety of ground-breaking projects around the world, with lots more in the pipeline, and is really going places. There is much to look forward to with all that is going on and it’s a thrilling time to be joining the company.”
