LAI’s IAAPA VR first

Ubisoft-themed ride is attendant-free

LAI Games showcased what it claims is an industry first at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando last week, launching an attendant-free VR attraction.

Virtual Rabbids: The Big Ride operates and is serviced like any other coin-op amusement game, making VR accessible to venues of all sizes. Created in partnership with Ubisoft, the ride features the French game publisher’s Rabbids brand in three different experiences suitable for all ages.

The ride features 360-degree vision with players facing the audience, advertising their reactions as they ride. In addition, each seat is monetised for maximum earning capability and rider safety when one of the positions is not in use. Technology includes a D-Box motion platform, HTC Vive headsets, dynamic wind simulation and hi-fi audio,

LAI also displayed current hits including Let’s Bounce, HYPERshoot and the Snapshot 2 photo booth, as well as Speed of Light, Mega Color Match, and Shooting Mania.
