Innovative Leisure’s Dinosaur Adventure roars into Norwich

Innovative Leisure has announced the installation of a new high ropes course at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. The double level Sky Trail Voyager has a linear layout and incorporates 28 different elements, including the world’s first twin parallel Sky Rail zip lines, which are also the longest in Europe at 34m.

Roarr! is an award-winning family attraction, Norfolk’s number one tourist destination and winner of Norfolk and Suffolk’s Best Large Visitor Attraction 2018. The venue has recently rebranded and undergone a massive revamp with a multi-million-pound investment, part of which saw the park approach Innovative Leisure with a design brief for an adventure attraction with enough capacity to allow it to be included in the entrance price.

The Sky Trail high ropes course can accommodate large numbers of participants with a quick turnaround. This particular course, which has a capacity of 50 guests and can cater for up to 200 guests per hour, has four linear paths of elements on the first and second level.

Charles Adam Goymour, general manager of the family-owned park, said: “Predator High Ropes was a 24-month project, built within 6 months, and was launched to our visitors on the 26th May, 2018, in time for Whitsun half-term and the spring bank holiday. This was made possible with thanks to a dedicated team of 75+ people, including 10 contractors, our in-house team at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure and Innovative Leisure. This was a substantial investment for us which amounted to £1 million in total for the project.”

Phil Pickersgill, Managing Director of Innovative Leisure, commented: “Part of the brief for the course design was to create an attraction that would appeal to an older guest/child, to make something quite impressive and thrilling and also to make it accessible for parents to enjoy WITH their children.”

In order for the Sky Trail to fit in with the theming in the area of the park in which it is located, which is based on an Edwardian secret garden and dinosaurs, the attraction has a Jules Verne/steam punk theme. The project team at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure spent many months developing the area, adding, among other elements, a whole new high ropes facility building, queue lines, theming and landscaping.
