Funtimes Fun Park upgrades with new rides

Facing a challenging 2020 season, Funtimes Fun Park, Alliance, Ohio, called upon International Rides Management (IRM) to again provide consulting and several upgrades. IRM previously supplied and relocated three classic kiddie rides and several midway-style skill games from Lakemont Park (Altoona, Pennsylvania, to transform the facility from an outdoor FEC to a hard ride park focusing on families.

For the 2020 season, Funtimes took delivery from IRM several additional midway-style skill games from Cincinnati’s Coney Island including a large Duck Pond and a Goblet Pitch. The midway was extended to allow for the installation of the games and additional room cleared for two new rides. New this summer at Funtimes Fun Park was an IRM-supplied Hampton Tubs of Fun, relocated from Santa’s Village Azoosment Park in East Dundee, Illinois. The ride arrived in early June and was ready to open when Ohio cleared outdoor parks to open for the summer after the Covid-19 shutdown.

In conjunction with IRM, Funtimes was also able to lease a kiddie carousel from a local operator to fill open space in the new midway area. Funtimes Fun Park has developed a feel of the beloved former Geauga Lake Amusement Park where owners Jason and Dawn Dlugokecki worked and met. The couple continues to keep the spirit of Geauga Lake alive in Northeast Ohio which has had a gap in outdoor fun since the closing of Sea World and Geauga Lake. Funtimes is planning for the future and looks forward to creating new family fun memories for generations to come, and will be announcing more additions soon.
