eCommerce platforms reach new industry high

Companies across the leisure industry are responding to rapidly changing consumer expectations and digital trends by embracing eCommerce platforms to future-proof and streamline their sales and marketing infrastructure.

Leader in eCommerce software and app developer Convious has reported a 10% increase in global sales in February, signing 11 new contracts in single month. This growth spans six countries and many different areas of the leisure industry.

This includes new long-term partnerships with Youseum, a multi-location interactive social media-themed walk-through experience, Dutch illusion park Mind Mystery, sports-themed adventure park Funmania in the Netherlands, and Totally Attractions, which operates a range of leisure experiences in the UK.

Other customers who have already seen the benefits of integrated end-to-end sales and marketing approaches are extending the scope of their operations with Convious to add new modules including F&B ordering, merchandise and mobile optimisation.

These include Hannover Adventure Zoo in Germany, Planète Sauvage wildlife park in France, Almere Jungle wildlife park in the Netherlands, Fort Fun attraction park in Germany, Jungle Trek adventure park in Spain, Wunderland Kalkar theme park in Germany and De Flierefluiter indoor playground in the Netherlands.

Marjolein van de Velde, Benelux Business Development Manager at Convious, says: “Today’s customers are far more accustomed to interacting with companies online. Leisure destinations are seeing huge increases in visitor conversion, sales increases and in repeat visitation by professionalising their online and offline sales channels and creating more personalised journeys for their customers before, during and after their visit.

“This increased demand and uptake demonstrates how leisure companies are investing in AI and data driven ecosystems to help them harness the power of data and enhanced marketing insights to respond and capitalise upon these changing customer preferences.”

Joep Heusschen, COO of Youseum explains: “With Convious we opted for a partner that is aligned with our mindset of scalability and growth and that will help us to continuously improve our most important revenue stream: ticketing.”
