Catalan club strikes deal with Madrid-based Parques Reunidos

Spanish football giant Barcelona FC has sealed a new strategic partnership with Parques Reunidos which will see the opening of at least five Barca-themed parks over the first five years of the agreement.The deal, which also includes an option to extend, was approved during the La Liga team’s recent AGM. Parques Reunidos, based in the rival city of Madrid, operates in 61 locations in 14 countries, and will work with the club to open Barcelona-themed parks in around the world.

The parks will be between 3,000 and 10,000 square metres in size, and will showcase the club’s history, values and players through a mixture of interactive elements, new technology education and entertainment.

Under the terms of the agreement, Parques Reunidos will assume full responsibility for the investment costs for the design of the parks, as well as their construction, while Barcelona will have complete control over all content used in the park in addition to the application and use of its brand.
