Bacta holds successful webinar on reopening
Bacta, the trade association for seaside arcades, over-18 amusement centres other companies that hire amusement machines, held its first webinar on Tuesday. The session covered a wide range of topics related to reopening, and bacta has reported a large number of members in virtual attendance.
The webinar, entitled ‘COVID-19 Risk Assessments: What You Need to Know Before You Reopen’, was hosted by bacta CEO John White, who was joined by Daivd Kivlin, HM Inspector of Health and Safety. In addition, the chairmen of bacta’s four Divisions; Trevor Sutton (BANDAI NAMCO), Greg Wood (Essex Leisure), Neil Finch (Southern City Leisure) and Quentin Stott (Reflex) were also present, to discuss the challenges of reopening from their own business perspective.
A number of areas were explored in the webinar, including working from home/what happens if an employee refuses to return to work; preparing a risk assessment yourself and not using third parties; face coverings; the 2-metre rule; managing children in your premises; preparing your team to implement your plan; serving food and cleaning machines and cash handling.
A video of the full webinar is available in the members area of the bacta website.
John White commented: “We were pleasantly surprised at just how many members registered and attended this event. Clearly the convenience of this format is popular and we will continue to make content available to our membership in this way.”
Next Tuesday June 16 at 11am, bacta will host its second webinar, entitled: ‘Rank/Done Bros – How to Get Your VAT Back’. Speakers will include Richard Holm, VAT Director, RSM UK Tax and Accounting and Chris Haley, managing director, Dransfields.
