Asbury Lanes renovate with Brunswick Bowling

Built in the 1960s, Asbury Lanes, in addition to providing an iconic bowling venue, has hosted national and local music acts from the early 2000s. The centre closed in 2015 to undergo extensive renovations by iStar, and opened to the public in May 2018.

Now, Asbury Lanes plans to offer a variety of bowling programs for youth (including free bowling lessons), seniors, local industry, and leagues.

iStar chose Brunswick Bowling to provide the 12,000-square-foot, six-lane centre with Pro Lane synthetic lanes, GS-series pinsetters, Pinball Wizard automated bumpers, Sync scoring and management system, and a Phoenix LT4 lane machine.

“We want to amplify what’s already here,” said Brian Cheripka, senior vice president, iStar. “iStar CEO Jay Sugarman happens to be a passionate bowler, and his appreciation of the Lanes goes even deeper. Everyone involved [in the project] recognized the responsibility in revitalizing a venue with such meaning.”
