Biloxi high speed go-kart track taking shape

Finishline Performance Karting is currently building a new go-karting attraction on the Biloxi strip with an opening date scheduled for spring. The track will span .91 miles, and can change configuration and traffic direction in order to add a fresh challenge.

The raceway is being built on what was once the Slippery Sam’s waterpark site before Hurricane Katrina, and Joey Spear – with Greater Gulf Development – commented that 3,000 square-feet have been added to the building.

Guests to the track will be able to visit an arcade, concession area for drivers and spectators, as well as a lounge, and Finishline Performance features two tracks – speed kart racing for adults, and a separate track for junior drivers.

Additionally, a second floor has been added to the building in order to facilitate group bookings; there are party rooms for little ones, and a larger room for corporate events with views overlooking the track and Biloxi strip.

The karts used at Finishline Performance are manufactured by SodiKart, and feature Italian gasoline-powered engines that Spear has revealed run just an inch and a half off the ground at 50mph.
