Rooftop Rider Zip Wire coming soon to Derbyshire

Not-for-profit organisation Mount Cook Adventure Centre, based out of the Peak District, has announced the grand opening of their Rooftop Rider Zip Wire.

The 108-metre-long Zip Wire is the first of its kind in Derbyshire and has been part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The zip wire starts 15 metres off the ground on the Centre’s roof and finishes in Steeplehouse Quarry, reaching speeds of up to 40mph.

The purpose-built Centre, which was completed in July 2016, offers outdoor activities for groups of children, young people, and adults.

“We think the Rooftop Rider Zip Wire will encourage tourists to the local area,” said Coli Adams, co-founder and director of Mount Cook. “helping to boost the local economy and create more jobs for local people.”

Mount Cook will be celebrating the grand opening of the Rooftop Rider Zip Wire with a free Open Day on Monday 7 May 2018, and regular sessions will coast £15 per adult and £10 for under 16s – with 100% of the proceeds going to the Mount Cook charity of the year: Cancer Research UK.
