VIRTUAL REALITY: New centre opens in Chester

Virtual Reality Escapes opened its first VR centre in Chester this week.

Using HTC Vive head-mounted displays, there are currently six videogames on offer – dinosaur hunter game Island 359, zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine, wave shooter Space Pirate Trainer, Fruit Ninja, The Lab and theBlu.

Sessions start from £10 per person for 20 minutes, 30 minutes costs £15, while a full hour is £25. The centre will also accept corporate party bookings for up to six people for an hour.

“We want to bring another element to our beautiful hometown and make it even more vibrant and welcoming and felt that a virtual reality experience store would be an ideal addition,” said the firm. “Based in the bustling town centre not far from Chester Cathedral we are in an ideal position for a multitude of occasions.

“The other half want to wander around Primark, and this is your idea of hell? Book an hour on Arizona Sunshine and squish some zombies instead.”

“Kids driving you potty on your visit here whilst the rest of the family want to take in the sights? Come and have a game of the app favourite, Fruit Ninja, and let them jump around to release that extra energy.”
