Roger Creamer Named Director of International Relations and Sports Development for QubicaAMF

Creamer will lead the company’s initiative to promote the sport of bowling worldwide, working with the Industry and Bowling Federations. QubicaAMF is committed to the sport of bowling and sees the future of the sport gaining worldwide acclaim with a goal of inclusion in the Olympics. With more than 100,000 million people in over 100 countries bowling at least once a year and more than 12 million league bowlers, bowling is truly a global and popular sport.

Creamer’s career in the bowling industry began in 1964 when he joined a UK chain, as a trainee manager and in 1969 became the Group Catering Controller for the AMF Bowling Center Operation (BCO).  In 1986 Creamer moved from the BCO Operation to head up the UK Bowling Products business signing the first all-new bowling center package in 10 years, and business kept growing going from just 50 centers to over 200 by 1990.

“QubicaAMF has long been a supporter of sport bowling and I am delighted that the company has given me the opportunity to head up our efforts,” said Creamer. “Sport bowling is something that has been dear to my heart for 50 years and I value the opportunity to do whatever I can to promote the game.”

 

Twenty years ago Creamer developed the AMF Bowling Center Management School. Initially held in the UK only for new entrants into the bowling business, it has since been held around the world and is designed to help new and existing bowling operators run their businesses more successfully.

 

Creamer is an accomplished bowler (left-hander) with several 300 games to his name.  Also a former Great Britain Captain and Nation Youth Team Coach.   He spent a month in Moscow in 1998 teaching Russian children how to play before selecting just 6 to represent Russia in the inaugural World Youth Games that were staged in Moscow.

QubicaAMF is the organizer of the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, the largest annual sporting event in terms of the number of participating countries, more than the Winter Olympics.  This annual event promotes bowling on a global level. The company celebrated the historical 50th anniversary of the tournament in 2014, and will host the 52nd Bowling World Cup in Hoa’s Bowling Center located in Shanghai, China from October 14 – 22, 2016.
