Lakemont Park to undergo FEC transformation

On Tuesday it was announced that Lakemont Park will remain closed for a second consecutive summer. The announcement follows news that the Blair County commissioners approved an amendment to the Lakemont Partnership lease – but the park is due to reopen in spring 2019.

Lakemont Park is undergoing renovations to become a family entertainment centre with family-focused amusements and attractions, including a new mini-golf course, batting cages, and electric go-karts. These renovations, which were originally planned for 2017, were delayed due to the passing of RADD Development Co.’s Lakemont Partnership managing partner, Donald Devorris. When the park reopens in 2019 it will offer free admission, though guests will need to purchase tickets for individual attractions and activities.

“Our vision is to rejuvenate Lakemont Park and have it be a community centerpiece for connecting with family and friends,” said operations partner Ralph Albrano. “The steps that we are taking to make Lakemont Park a family experience for patrons of all ages will be well worth our time, effort, and investment.”
