Together with immersive technology company Immotion, Merlin Entertainments have entered into a deal to bring a new VR experience to the Legoland Discovery Centre in Boston.

Called The Great Lego Race VR Experience, the Somerville attraction will combine visual and auditory tech with motion to create the sensation of racing along a track. Guests will compete against Lego characters; wizards, pirates, mummies, and more.

“Discovery Center in Boston is part of a massively popular worldwide brand,” said Martin Higginson, executive chairman of Immotion. “we are excited about this specially created VR experience we have delivered for them. It demonstrates the kind of high-quality bespoke VR experiences we can develop on behalf of our partners.”

Joe Botsch, operations manager at the Legoland Center, claimed that whilst kids may be leaving the tactile world of Lego for a few minutes, the hope is that they’ll walk out with fresh inspiration, ready to construct something new and creative.
