The Al Raid Group has announced that Oman’s first retailtainment centre, Al Araimi Walk, will open in Barka, 2020. Construction of the outlet is due to begin in July, and the project represents part of Al Raid Group’s pledge to invest US $1b in the nation’s retail and hospitality sector across five years.
Featuring 164 retail outlets, seven entertainment hubs, a hypermarket, and IMAX cinema, the 240,000 sqm development is expected to generate a footfall reaching 10m. Children, adults, and everyone in between will be able to enjoy a variety of entertainment options, including; an indoor water park, trampoline park, snow village, ice skating rink, virtual reality centre, family entertainment zone, wall climbing activity, and a kid’s adventure activity zone.
Al Araimi Walk is strategically located at Barka, offering convenient access to millions of people from the Al Batinah region, the Al Batinah Expressway, and from the interior of Oman. A community that previously had to commute miles to enjoy a retail/entertainment experience will now have an accessible option, and Al Araimi Walk will also create jobs in the region, launching new careers and entrepreneurs.
